My client in the manufacturing industry is seeking to employ an Asset Care (Maintenance) Specialist, based at their Pinetown branch.

Duties include:

  1. Maintaining & servicing machinery by making full utilization of planned maintenance allowance.
  2. Planning and managing all maintenance activities in the factory.
  3. Fault identification and fixing of root cause and ensuring the accurate completion of production logs and job cards.
  4. Attending to breakdowns.
  5. Identification and achievement of measurable technical and process developments and improvements.
  6. Assisting Production Manager to establish the budget for spares expenses and equipment including the control of consumable costs.
  7. Controlling spares usage and costs.
  8. Maintaining standards in accordance with ISO quality system.
  9. Ensuring that the work in the section is performed in terms of agreed expectations and the company's standards.
  10. Assisting with training of staff.
  11. Ensuring a safe working environment by adhering to safety procedures.
  12. Ensuring proper housekeeping by maintaining a minimum score of 95% on the housekeeping checklist and 100% adherence to the dress code.
  13. Championing all projects from start to completion in the factory.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Minimum N4 and trade tested (N5 preferred).
  2. 3+ years manufacturing production experience (continuous).
  3. PLC fault finding experience and the ability to read ladder diagrams advantageous.
  4. Willing to work shifts, has own transport.
