The Role & Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise day-to-day settlement operation throughout the trade file cycle, including order management, trade capture, trade matching, and settlement. Monitor service delivery by the teams in terms of SLA and manage clients' expectations regarding deliverables.
  2. Accountability for the matching and settlement of transactions executed in all Global markets.
  3. Liaise with custodians and counterparties to ensure all trade settlement processes are completed in a timely manner.
  4. Build and maintain strong working relationships with external & internal clients regarding matters pertaining to Trade Operation activities.
  5. Keep eyes on relevant market changes, conduct analysis on system enhancement needs, and apply measures to cope with the changes when necessary.
  6. Perform ad-hoc projects and assignments when required.
  7. Manage and coordinate team deliverables relating to projects and new client/fund onboarding.
  8. Manage each team member's performance and ensure that output is of high quality at all times.
  9. Provide mentorship and motivation to staff, ensuring appropriate knowledge sharing and skills training.
  10. Empower the respective team leaders to manage the delivery of daily tasks of their teams.
  11. Resolve issues escalated by team leaders.
  12. Ensure process documents are maintained and up to date to ensure smooth operation of the function.
  13. Manage risk in the Trade Operation team activities by reviewing processes and ensuring that adequate controls are in place to mitigate risk.
  14. Assess opportunities for improved efficiencies and reduced overhead in existing processes, including new technologies and tools.

Skills Required:

  1. B. Com or similar tertiary business study and at least 10 years' experience in Asset Management portfolio administration.
  2. Minimum of 5 years in a management role.
  3. Strong Asset Management knowledge and experience, especially in OMGEO trade matching/confirmations.
  4. Sound knowledge and experience of back-office administration processes.
  5. A good understanding of portfolio management processes and trading lifecycles.
  6. Strong people management skills and a proven ability to empower teams for the best possible output.
  7. Very strong communication skills (written & verbal).
  8. Confident, enthusiastic, and have a structured approach to work.
  9. Ability to work in a pressurized environment.
