A new 4-star hotel in Cape Town is seeking a skilled and motivated Chef de Partie to take charge of a specific kitchen section. The ideal candidate should have excellent culinary skills, attention to detail, and a passion for producing high-quality dishes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., grill, pastry, or sauce).
  • Prepare and cook dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and presentation.
  • Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff within your section.
  • Monitor ingredient quality, portion control, and food waste.
  • Ensure compliance with kitchen hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Assist in menu development and contribute creative ideas to enhance the dining experience.
  • Communicate effectively with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

  • South African ID or valid work permit.
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a similar role within a 4 or 5-star hotel.
  • A culinary qualification is preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for cooking and a commitment to delivering excellence.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
