We are looking for a qualified and experienced Specialist in Design of Coal Discard Dump Facilities to join our project engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the planning, design, and optimisation of coal discard dump facilities , ensuring compliance with geotechnical, environmental, and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate the design and development of coal discard dump facilities . Perform geotechnical investigations , stability analysis , and seepage assessments . Develop stormwater drainage and erosion control systems for discard dump sites. Prepare and review engineering drawings, design reports, and technical documentation . Liaise with multidisciplinary teams including civil, environmental, and mining engineers. Ensure regulatory compliance with DMRE, DWS, and environmental standards. Support project delivery during construction, QA/QC inspections , and handover. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s Degree (BEng/BSc) in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Postgraduate advantage). 5+ years’ experience in Design of Coal Discard Dump Facilities or mine waste management. Professional registration with ECSA (Pr.Eng / Pr.TechEng) or eligible for registration. Proficiency in GeoStudio, Rocscience, PLAXIS, and AutoCAD Civil 3D . Strong knowledge of mine waste, slope stability, and environmental compliance . Excellent technical writing and analytical skills. Desirable Skills Experience with mine closure and rehabilitation planning . Working knowledge of hydrology and stormwater modelling tools .
