Position: Geologist/Hydrogeologist - Consulting in the mining industry Location: Western Cape, South Africa Job Description: Hire Resolve's client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geologist/Hydrogeologist to provide consulting services to the mining industry in the Western Cape region. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting geological and hydrogeological assessments, investigations, and analyses to support mining operations and projects. They will work closely with mining companies to identify potential mineral deposits, assess groundwater resources, and develop strategies to ensure the sustainable use and management of natural resources. Responsibilities: Conduct geological and hydrogeological surveys, mapping, and sampling to assess the quality and quantity of mineral and water resources. Analyze geological and hydrogeological data to identify potential mineral deposits, groundwater sources, and environmental risks. Prepare technical reports, maps, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders. Develop and implement management plans to mitigate environmental impacts and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Provide technical guidance and support to mining companies on site selection, land use planning, and environmental monitoring. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, geophysicists, and environmental scientists, to deliver integrated solutions to complex mining challenges. Stay current on industry developments, trends, and best practices to enhance expertise and service offerings. Requirements: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in geological and hydrogeological consulting, preferably in the mining industry. Proficiency in GIS software, geological modeling, and data analysis tools. Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills. Professional registration or certification as a Geologist/Hydrogeologist is preferred.
