If you thrive in a challenging, hands‑on role and prioritize safety above all else, we want you As a Site Technician, you'll be on the front lines, responsible for the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and removal of critical flow monitoring and associated equipment . Working as part of a small, close-knit team, you'll ensure accurate data collection in diverse water environments – from live sewers to working at height . Your unwavering commitment to safety and adherence to strict protocols, especially around confined spaces and highways , will be paramount to our success and the well‑being of your team. Responsibilities Install and maintain specialised flow meters in live foul and stormwater sewers. Safely manage entry and exit into manholes , operating winches to ensure crew safety. Perform essential cleaning and checking of flow meters in challenging sewer environments. Install and maintain rain gauges , often involving work at height. Erect and manage highways signage (Chapter 8) to ensure public and team safety during operations. Prioritize and uphold the highest standards of health and safety for yourself and your team, using all appropriate procedures and PPE. Proactively manage and stock your company vehicle with all necessary equipment, ensuring it's ready for every shift.Complete accurate documentation and reports for all site activities, vehicle checks, and any incidents. Collaborate effectively with your Team Leader and colleagues, reporting any issues with equipment or sites promptly. Qualifications Experience: 1-2 years of proven experience in a field‑based, physically demanding role (e.g., utilities, drainage, construction, groundwork). Experience with confined spaces is a significant advantage. Safety First Mindset: A strong, unwavering commitment to health and safety regulations and procedures, particularly those related to confined space entry, working at height, and highways safety. Physical Fitness: The essential ability to enter confined spaces and perform physically demanding tasks in varied weather conditions. Practical Skills: Aptitude for understanding and working with technical equipment, performing routine maintenance, and using basic hand tools. Team Player: Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a small, cohesive team, following instructions and supporting colleagues. Driving: A full, clean UK driving licence is essential, as you'll be operating a company vehicle nationwide. Communication: Clear verbal communication skills for effective team coordination and reporting. Flexibility: Willingness to undertake extensive nationwide travel, often involving 2-4 nights away per week , and regular night work . Full‑time, predominantly Monday to Friday Regular overnight stays (2-4 nights/week) and night work are a standard requirement of the role.
