Risen Energy , global leader in energy solutions, is expanding its presence in Southern Africa and seeking a dedicated BESS Technical Support Engineer to join our team in South Africa . This is a dynamic opportunity to contribute to innovation in battery energy storage systems (BESS), while collaborating with our global teams across Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Key Responsibilities Provide technical support for the deployment, operation, and optimization of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) in South Africa. Conduct market research and monitoring on the BESS sector in South Africa to inform and support product planning. Draft, translate, and manage technical and product documentation in English (Afrikaans or other local languages beneficial). Deliver technical training and knowledge transfer to internal teams (sales, service, engineering) and local clients. Gather and report feedback from the field to drive continuous product improvement. Coordinate with global teams to align regional goals with international BESS strategies and best practices. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering , Energy, or a related discipline. Minimum 2 years of experience in energy storage or BESS-related projects. At least 3 years of professional experience in technical or engineering roles. Legal right to work in South Africa . Professional-level proficiency in English . Knowledge of Afrikaans , Zulu, or other local languages is a plus. Willingness to travel regionally and collaborate on international projects as needed.
