South Africa Technical / Field Service Engineer (PV Utility & BESS) – Sungrow MENA & Central Asia Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa Responsibilities Provide on‑site and remote commissioning of BESS systems, PCS, and PV inverters. Deliver technical services support to customers effectively and on time. Perform on‑site and remote technical support, troubleshooting and testing of solar inverters. Lead or assist with the support of assigned projects. Coordinate with R&D engineering in China if required help during troubleshooting. Provide service technical reports to customers and supervisor during and after site visits in a timely manner. Monitor and maintain electrical equipment or machinery performance. Communicate status of open service case tickets to customers. Take ownership of customer issues and follow problems through to resolution with HQ support. Order and restock materials when required. Participate in ongoing training to keep up to date with latest developments. Qualifications 3‑5 years experience in the PV or BESS renewable industry sector. Experience in troubleshooting or commissioning commercial and utility‑scale BESS and PV inverters. Ability to work with test equipment and hand tools. Customer service, problem‑solving, decision‑making and analytical skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to closely follow instruction and pre‑established procedures / SOP. Willingness to provide service locally and to other African countries. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Electrical Engineering from accredited university or college. OSHA, NSPA70A, Electrical Safety certifications; first aid, firefighting and ORHVS certificates are advantageous. Registered Engineer with ECSA or other institutions advantageous. Other Institute Certification training on Solar/Energy Renewable advantageous. Seniority level: Mid‑Senior levelEmployment type: Full‑time #J-18808-Ljbffr
