Planning and Logistics Manager - Alberton at PG Group Join to apply for the Planning and Logistics Manager - Alberton at PG Group role at PG Group (Pty) Ltd . Main Purpose To ensure the efficient management of raw materials, production planning, and outbound logistics so as to drive production efficiency and maintain 100% delivery performance at optimal stock levels. Main Objective Ensure effective planning of the plant in line with production orders so that agreed OEE targets are met. Maintain minimum stock levels and keep them readily available for production to control costs and avoid stoppages. Manage staff effectively and hold them accountable through performance and disciplinary procedures, while developing and mentoring them through talent management and IDP processes. Ensure effective communication within customers and production to eliminate unnecessary surprises and grow trust relationships. Drive and maintain agreed raw material holdings and manage obsolete stock closely to support site business and financial targets. Procure and expedite products to meet production requirements and plans, ensuring all parts are available within specified timeframes to avoid disruptions. Forecast demand and supply levels for services and products to maintain inventory needs throughout the year. Source and negotiate contracts with suppliers to achieve the best quality, cost, and schedule while aligning with the BBBEE strategy. Manage all Service Level Agreements and contracts regularly to monitor compliance and risk. Drive and implement actions to achieve BBBEE targets as per the company strategy for procurement, sustainable development, and enterprise development. Propose improvements to the current purchasing system that will enhance vendor relationships and reduce costs annually. Communicate relevant information to all stakeholders to support effective decision-making for the business. Critical Job Requirements Grade 12 Diploma/Degree in Logistics or equivalent 8 years’ experience in Logistics and Planning 3 years of management experience 8 years’ experience in an automotive component manufacturing environment Knowledge Good understanding of production planning, material, and warehousing Advanced ERP/MRP experience Skills Computer skills Interpersonal skills Problem‑solving skills Decision‑making skills Analytical skills PG Group, and its subsidiaries, are committed to the principles of employment equity and are equal‑opportunity employers.
