We specialise in Control & Instrumentation (C&I), PLC / SCADA system integration, Industrial IoT, AI-driven process optimisation, and digital transformation for industries such as Mining, Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, and Water Treatment. Our projects range from plant automation and MCC replacements to AI-powered predictive maintenance platforms, OPC UA data gateways, and virtual commissioning systems. We are now expanding our reach and looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager to join our growing team. The Role As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and developing new client relationships across South Africa. You will represent VGC in meetings, presentations, and industry events, showcasing our automation and AI solutions. This role suits a self-motivated professional who thrives on building relationships, identifying opportunities, and closing high-value technical deals. Key Responsibilities Identify, engage, and secure new business across mining, power, oil & gas, and manufacturing sectors. Conduct regular client visits nationally to promote VGC's automation, SCADA, IoT, and process optimisation services. Build and manage strong relationships with key decision-makers and engineering managers. Develop and execute a national sales and growth strategy aligned with VGC's business goals. Lead tendering, bid preparation, and contract negotiations in collaboration with engineering teams. Manage a structured sales pipeline and provide monthly progress reports to management. Collaborate on marketing initiatives and represent VGC at exhibitions and trade events. Minimum Requirements National Diploma or BTech in Electrical / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or Business Development. 5+ years' experience in technical sales or business development within industrial automation, control systems, or process engineering. Strong knowledge of Siemens / Rockwell PLCs, SCADA, Instrumentation, or IoT technologies. Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
