Digital Product Owner

The role Santam’s Client Solutions team is looking for a dynamic Digital Product Owner to drive innovation and deliver customer‑centric solutions. This role is based at our modern Alice Lane office in Gauteng, offering you the opportunity to shape the future of insurance through cutting‑edge digital products. What will make you successful in the role Product Delivery & Execution Lead a cross‑functional squad (designers, BAs, engineers) to deliver high‑quality digital products. Align teams on priorities, ensure incremental business value, and resolve risks or blockers proactively. Partner with Scrum Masters and Technical Leads for sprint alignment and timely feature releases. User Experience (UX) Work closely with UX/UI designers to create intuitive, human‑centered experiences. Guide UX concepts and approve prototypes to ensure alignment with product goals and user needs. Feature Prioritisation & Backlog Management Prioritise features and enhancements based on client value and business objectives. Maintain a refined backlog with clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and success measures. Balance innovation, technical feasibility, and business constraints. Stakeholder Engagement Act as the bridge between business and technology, ensuring transparent communication. Gather insights from stakeholders and review BA specifications for clarity and alignment. Present progress and updates to leadership and cross‑functional teams. Product Launch & Go-to-Market Coordinate launches with Change Management, Marketing, and Communications. Define KPIs for adoption and impact; support post‑launch reviews for continuous improvement. Continuous Improvement Monitor performance using analytics and feedback; implement enhancements to boost usability and satisfaction. Foster a culture of data‑driven decisions and innovation. Cross‑functional Collaboration Work with teams across Santam (Architecture, Marketing, Compliance, IT, Operations, Analytics) to align digital initiatives with business objectives. Qualification and experience Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a Digital Product Owner / Snr Digital Business Analyst in a financial services or insurance environment. Minimum qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Technology, or a related field. Proven success in managing and scaling digital products or self‑service platforms. Preferred Certifications (Advantageous): Agile methodologies Product Management User Experience (UX) Knowledge and skills Understanding of UX principles Familiarity with agile frameworks and digital product delivery Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, GA4, and Figma.
