Role Overview We are seeking an high-caliber Head of Business Development to lead the origination and closure of large commercial and industrial (C&I) energy projects. This is a senior, strategic, and commercially focused role that offers the chance to shape the company's growth trajectory, influence market expansion, and directly impact revenue. Key Responsibilities Originate, structure, and secure high-value C&I solar PV, BESS, and hybrid projects. Develop and execute strategies to expand the company's presence in South Africa and selected international markets. Build and manage strong relationships with clients, partners, investors, and other key stakeholders. Lead deal negotiations, project structuring, and contract finalization to maximize commercial outcomes. Contribute to strategic decision-making and long-term growth planning at executive level. Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and high-level client engagements. Requirements Proven track record in business development or commercial leadership in renewable energy, power, or infrastructure. Demonstrated success in originating and closing large C&I projects (PPAs, off-grid, hybrid energy systems). Deep knowledge of solar PV, BESS, gensets, and hybrid energy solutions. Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and stakeholder management. Ability to combine strategic vision with hands-on execution. Established network in South Africa and regional markets is highly desirable.
