We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Product Developer to support the development, improvement, and maintenance of our produce range. In this exciting role, you will combine your technical expertise, analytical mindset, and passion for fresh food to bring innovative products to life – ensuring they meet quality standards, market demand, and increase profitability. Minimum Requirements Diploma in Food Technology, Consumer Science, or a related field Degree or B-Tech in Food Science/Food Technology is advantageous Minimum 3 years of experience in a food-related FMCG environment; experience in fresh produce is advantageous Valid driver's license Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Experience with kitchen or product management software is advantageous Competencies A genuine passion for fresh food innovation and commitment to delivering excellence Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in creating and adapting recipes based on dietary needs and trends Experience in training kitchen staff on new recipes and costing strategies Solid knowledge of food costing, pricing strategies, and profitability management Ability to calculate and adjust recipe costs for profitability without compromising quality Ability to analyse sensory data and interpret nutritional and regulatory information Experience with regulatory guidelines for food products and labeling Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills Key Responsibilities Assist in developing and launching new fresh produce lines, from concept to market Support continuous improvement of existing products, focusing on quality, cost, and performance Coordinate cross‑functional collaboration between internal teams and key suppliers through pre‑trial meetings, product briefs, and performance reviews Formulate, test, and refine product prototypes for texture, flavour, and nutritional content, ensuring compliance with health and regulatory standards Troubleshoot formulation and process challenges to optimise recipes for cost efficiency and scalability Maintain thorough documentation and reporting of product trials, evaluations, and development outcomes Build and sustain productive supplier relationships, sharing performance metrics and driving improvements through clear communication Develop and implement contingency and learning strategies to close performance or knowledge gaps, ensuring continuous growth and improvement #J-18808-Ljbffr
