We are seeking an accomplished Executive Leader to spearhead our client's Internal Audit and Forensic Investigations functions. Responsibilities Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for the internal audit and forensic investigation functions, ensuring alignment with the organisation's overall objectives. Lead the creation and implementation of a dynamic, risk-based annual audit plan, collaborating with executive management and securing Board approval. Oversee and direct all internal audit activities, including performance, operational, and compliance reviews, ensuring the highest standards of professional practice. Champion the development and execution of robust forensic investigation strategies, focusing on effective fraud prevention, detection, and response. Provide expert advisory services and assurance to the Board, Audit Committee, CEO, and executive leadership on critical audit and forensic matters. Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with the Audit Committee, senior management, and external auditors. Drive continuous improvement in audit methodologies, quality assurance initiatives, and compliance with relevant regulatory standards and best practices. Lead and mentor a high-performing audit and forensic team, fostering a culture of professional development and accountability. Manage departmental budgets effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for audit and forensic services. Requirements Professional certification as either a CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or CA(SA) (Chartered Accountant South Africa). Experience in short term insurance. A minimum of ten years of full-time experience in auditing and accounting. At least six years of experience in senior management roles within audit or a related field. Demonstrated experience reporting to Executive Committees (Exco) and/or Board Sub-Committees. Experience in co-sourcing or managing outsourced audit functions. Familiarity with the King IV Code of Corporate Governance. Experience with specific regulatory frameworks relevant to the financial services industry.
