About the Role Principal Engineer – Maintenance and Infrastructure. The role is primarily responsible for providing consulting services to our clients and requires extensive experience in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Projects, and Maintenance roles. Experience as a Project Manager or senior operational maintenance roles in the mining industry, financial modelling skills, or Lenders Engineering would be highly regarded. The successful candidate will have on-site experience on mines in maintenance, mine infrastructure, and/or projects, with prior exposure to a consulting environment being advantageous. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience across various mining studies and work with a team of specialists. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally is required. Key Responsibilities Participate in global consulting projects such as pre-feasibility studies, technical reports, due diligence, and Lenders Engineering. Define and record client requirements. Verify scope of work and ensure timely delivery of outcomes. Develop leads and follow up on opportunities. Assist in proposal planning and preparation. Contribute to technical development within the company. Work effectively as a technical expert, Project Manager, or Project Director as required. Collaborate with clients from project initiation to delivery. Prepare and review project reports and present outcomes to clients. Expand and maintain a professional network within the mining industry. Minimum Requirements Tertiary qualification in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering. At least 10 years of relevant experience. Registered Professional Engineer or eligible to obtain registration. Experience in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Lenders Engineering, Project Management, Mine Infrastructure, and Maintenance roles. Senior roles in Projects and/or Maintenance within the mining industry. Financial modelling or budgeting skills are a plus. Experience onsite and in consulting roles in mining. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Self-motivated and technically proficient. Experience at multiple mine sites is desirable. Ability to prepare various project and operational reports. Legal right to work in South Africa. Post-graduate qualifications in business or related fields are advantageous.
