Our client an established Financial Services company based in the heart Cape Town seeks a highly skilled Payments Retention and Collections Specialist to take on a leadership role in our organization. The ideal candidate will have 57 years of experience in the payments retention and collections space with a deep understanding of debt review processes industry regulations and call center operations. This position is key to maximizing client retention ensuring timely payments and improving overall collections outcomes across the group.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Team Leadership: Lead mentor and manage a team of specialists focused on payments retention and collections to achieve and surpass targets.
  • Payments Management: Oversee and optimize payment processing ensuring timely and accurate transactions while addressing any payment issues efficiently.
  • Client Retention: Develop and implement retention strategies that minimize client attrition including handling escalated retention cases and offering tailored solutions to meet client needs.
  • Collections Expertise: Utilize your knowledge of collections to guide the team in recovering outstanding debts focusing on both voluntary and involuntary collections processes.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all payment retention and collection activities comply with industry regulations company policies and ethical standards.
  • Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members ensuring they are wellequipped to handle complex scenarios and maintain high performance.
  • Strategy Implementation: Develop and execute strategies to improve payment processing efficiency enhance client retention and maximize collections aligned with company goals.
  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly analyze team performance metrics such as payment success rates retention figures and collections efficiency to identify trends and implement improvements.
  • Statistical Analysis: Utilize your understanding of statistics to forecast trends assess the effectiveness of strategies and make datadriven decisions to enhance department performance.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on payments retention and collections activities to senior management highlighting successes and areas for improvement.

Requirements

Qualifications and skills:

  • Experience: 57 years of experience in payments retention and collections with a strong background in debt review and call center operations.
  • NSC Matric Certificate
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team in a fastpaced resultsoriented environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of industry regulations including the National Credit Act (NCA) debt review processes and best practices in payments and collections.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using CRM systems payment processing software and collections technology.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively manage client relationships and lead a team.
  • ProblemSolving: Strong analytical and problemsolving skills capable of making datadriven decisions to optimize payments retention and collections strategies.
  • Compliance Awareness: Uptodate knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance standards within the payments retention and collections industries.
