Manufacturing
  • Responsible for all Valmont Safety Procedures are implemented at the Site
  • Responsible for the daily manufacturing operations of the company and all its components
  • Ensure compliance with policies and regulations
  • Maintain and improve process efficiency and QCI adherence
  • Recommend optimal manufacturing solutions and equipment needs
  • Develop and update all operations procedure manuals (IQRS)

  • Manage Manufacturing personnel: Work allocation, training, and problem resolution

  • Maintain a proactive equipment maintenance program
  • Forecast facility capabilities and manage annual production targets within operating budget
  • Work with management team for design or changes to structural CAD drawings.
  • Analyze new ECN records & plan to implement
  • Participate in the development of product forecasts
  • Quality Assurance of finished products
  • To actively take part in team meetings, relative to Product Availability, Sales, Marketing, Group Team meetings, and the associated customer visits
Warehousing
  • Maintaining effective inventory control records and system procedures
  • Determine obsolete, slow non-moving inventory (OSMI) and develop action plan
  • Actively support Plant, Shipping and Warehousing cost savings projects
  • Responsible for Warehouse Management System accuracy
  • To meet department variable and period budgets and supervise the department in such a manner to ensure the highest level of efficiency while meeting budgets
  • To assure effective labor relations and consistent contract and policy administration while promoting a work environment conducive to people improvement and motivation of the production work force
  • To train and motivate subordinates in the performance of their duties, develop their Total Production Manufacturing (TPM) capabilities, lead AM teams, develop their management talents, and encourage creativity at the supervisory level so that a constant supply of qualified supervisors are available for positions of greater responsibility

Shipping and Logistics

  • Support the goal and objective of production in conjunction with customer service to accomplish shipment requirements/deadlines
  • Responsible for supervising the Shipping functions in order to provide optimum movement of raw materials, package materials, and finished product at the most efficient and economical cost, while maintaining safety
  • Planning & coordinating shipping schedules

Maintenance

  • Control & Direct preventive maintenance in production system
  • Program logic control for proper equipment operation to ensure "ZERO" lost time

General

  • Responsible for the yard
  • Responsible for the Safety of all people entering the site
  • Responsible for the control of all procurement and approvals to the DOA (Delegation of Authority)
  • Drive and implement the necessary cost saving projects to ensure material and services offered at the best possible price
  • Implement and manage 5S Housekeeping, LEAN, OEE & Warehouse Standard procedures

Salary: R800 000.00 R1m per annum
