Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) PractitionerLocation: Centurion, Gauteng, South AfricaJob Type: Full-TimeDepartment: Facilities / Property ManagementReports To: OHS Manager / Regional Operations ManagerPurpose of the RoleTo ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, policies, and procedures across a national property portfolio. The OHS Practitioner will manage risk, conduct audits, and implement safety systems to protect employees, tenants, contractors, and visitors.Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance & Risk ManagementImplement and monitor OHS systems and controls in line with legal and regulatory requirementsConduct risk assessments, site inspections, and auditsEnsure compliance with the OHS Act, COID, and other relevant legislationInvestigate incidents and accidents, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actionsEscalate non-compliance issues to relevant managers and departmentsTraining & AwarenessDevelop and deliver OHS training programs and awareness campaignsOrganize seminars, webinars, and onboarding safety sessions for new employeesUpdate training materials in line with legislative changes and best practicesDocumentation & ReportingMaintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and compliance activitiesCompile and manage Health & Safety files for new and ongoing projectsPrepare monthly and ad-hoc reports for management and stakeholdersStakeholder EngagementLiaise with internal departments (HR, Facilities, Operations) and external contractorsProvide expert advice and mentorship on OHS mattersAttend Department of Labour inspections and inquiries when requiredCandidate ProfileA qualified and experienced OHS professional with a strong background in facilities, property management, or construction. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of leading safety initiatives across multiple sites. They must be comfortable working independently and collaboratively, with excellent communication and analytical skills.Qualifications & ExperienceSAMTRAC / HIRA / NEBOSH / OHS Certificate or equivalentMinimum 3–5 years in OHS, preferably in facilities, property management, or constructionExperience with electronic business management systems and OHS auditsSkills & CompetenciesStrong analytical and risk assessment skillsExcellent verbal and written communicationLeadership and mentorship capabilitiesProficiency in MS Office and safety management systemsAbility to recommend and implement technical solutionsHigh attention to detail and organizational skillsFamiliarity with SANS standards and hazardous materials handlingAdditional RequirementsValid driver’s licenseRegistered with SACPCMP (preferred)Willingness to travel to various sites across South Africa
