Are you passionate about workplace safety and looking to grow your career in Health & Safety? Our client, a leader in the FMCG sector, is seeking a motivated Junior Health & Safety Officer to join their team in Brackenfell.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize, and execute fire drills and emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Assist in the compilation of HIRA (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment) and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) with the guidance of departmental managers.
  • Conduct incident investigations and assist in evaluating final reports.
  • Perform Contractor Inductions and audit contractor files to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with annual medical checks and compile the companys annual training matrix.
  • Perform supplier, internal audits, and external certification audits (advantageous).
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in line with company policies.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Education:
    • Grade 12 certificate.
    • Qualification in H&S non-negotiable
    • Relevant qualifications such as Samtrac, Introduction to Samtrac, Nebosh(advantageous), or other related OHS training.
    • Experience:
      • 13 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within an FMCG environment.
      • Skills:
        • Strong knowledge of South African health and safety regulations.
        • Ability to compile HIRA and SOP documents.
        • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
        • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
        • Additional:
          • A Code 8 drivers license and own reliable car are advantageous.
