As their first Platform Engineer, you’ll take ownership of a robust, multi-cloud environment and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of their infrastructure, reliability, and security operations.About the RoleThis is a hands-on opportunity to build and optimise platform reliability from the ground up. You’ll work closely with a small, high-performing engineering team, owning everything from uptime and scalability to disaster recovery and DevOps automation. This is the perfect role for someone ready to take charge, drive improvements, and grow into a leadership position as the platform scales.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure high availability, performance, and monitoring across all production applicationsManage and optimise Heroku pipelines, CI/CD flows, and production infrastructureOversee cloud operations across AWS, DigitalOcean, and Heroku environmentsRun Celery workers and queues, enforce task health, and track service-level objectivesLead disaster recovery planning, penetration testing, and post-mortem processesStandardise and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, scripting, and automationOwn security practices: encryption, IAM policies, MFA/SSO, and access reviewsBuild internal tools and dashboards to streamline developer workflowsCentralise logging and observability with tools like Sentry, Papertrail, Prometheus, andAPMEvaluate and manage third-party vendors and SaaS integrationsWhat You’ll Bring3+ years of experience managing cloud infrastructure (Heroku, AWS, DigitalOcean, etc.)Strong CI/CD knowledge (GitHub Actions, Heroku CI) and solid Git fundamentalsExperience with monitoring, logging, and incident response frameworksWorking knowledge of IAM, MFA/SSO, encryption protocols, and secure configurationProven ability to document, collaborate, and work effectively within small engineeringteamsNice to HaveProficiency in Python and familiarity with Django or FlaskExperience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and DockerUnderstanding of Celery, Redis, or asynchronous workloadsExposure to compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or GDPRFamiliarity with observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic)Certifications like AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or CKSWhat’s On OfferA rare opportunity to define and own platform engineering from day oneFull autonomy to design tooling, systems, and processesA clear growth path into platform/SRE/security leadershipDiverse technical exposure: Heroku, AWS, DigitalOcean, Cloudflare, S3, and moreCollaboration with a sharp, experienced team that values reliability and securityHands-on experience with SOC 2 compliance and enterprise security standardsA competitive compensation package with room to growA mission-driven company making financial equity accessible to global employees Company CultureThe team you’ll join is smart, agile, and deeply collaborative.
