We're hiring a
Specialist Platform Engineer
for our client, one of South Africa's premier banks. This is a pivotal role where your expertise will directly influence the stability, efficiency, and innovation of critical banking services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimise platform features/components aligned to self-service, scalability, reusability, resilience & stability.
  • Own the engineering lifecycle end-to-end: clean, extensible code and rigorous testing; prevent defects using metrics and observability/telemetry.
  • Monitor production performance and turn data into decisions that lift uptime, latency, and user experience.
  • Lead/participate in incident management and disaster recovery; drive root-cause analysis and sustainable fixes.
  • Document solution blueprints; uphold standards, risk & governance; mentor and collaborate across teams.

We're looking for a candidate with:

  • 3 - 5 years'
    platform/data-center engineering
    experience in large, complex environments.
  • CDCP
    certification and strong knowledge of DC infrastructure (HVAC, power/UPS, generators, electrical distribution, cooling/heating, fire suppression).
  • Working knowledge of
    OHS/HSE/ISO and regulatory frameworks
    ; disciplined approach to risk and governance.
  • Solid
    object-oriented design
    ; ability to deliver maintainable, testable code and reliable test infrastructure; fluency with performance monitoring/telemetry.
  • BSc/BTech (
    Electrical/Mechanical
    ) or equivalent.
