Duties: Assist workshop staff on quality issues and communicate quality control information to all relevant departments Manage all Non-Conformance queries & investigations Liaise with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issuesManage outsourced inspection activities like Dye pen, MPI, X-Ray, AIA & Pressure TestingPrepare Quality Control plansManage sample making approval process (ISIR process)Internal & supplier auditsEnsure all quality records are maintained for traceabilityEnsure quality assurance is built in the processConduct measurements using various measuring instrumentsTrain employees on quality controlInspection equipment calibration & controlDefect outflow investigationJig/ Fixture controlReview job requirements based on product design and contractual requirementsTechnical reviewsDaily planning for inspection & testingInitiate, coordinate and enforce quality assurance systemsTrain & ensure competency of employees with regards to qualityEnsure that all inspection tasks are performedLiaise with designer, client and other stakeholders to maximize quality Provide root cause analysis and execute corrective action plansPrepare clear and concise reports Manage the performance of all quality equipmentCreate work instructions/ standard operating proceduresEnsure compliance to Quality Management SystemsProject managementContinuous improvementManage KPAs of subordinatesEnsure adherence to company policies and proceduresEnsure productivity targets are met/ Assist with expediting workCandidates must exhibit or be able to demonstrate:Prior quality control experience in a manufacturing environmentAn ability to work in a cross functional team with challenging deadlinesExcellent communication skills both verbal and writtenAbility to manage multiple tasks or projects at one timeComputer literacy with Microsoft Office packagesAn understanding of metals and metrology principlesAn ability to read and understand Mechanical drawingsKnowledge of ISO 9001 & ISO 3834 practices within a quality control environmentGood organizational, analytical and problem-solving skillsAn ability to set and improve quality standards within supply baseA positive and engaging attitude in dealing with people at all levels within the organization.Strong leadership abilityEducation/Training:Grade 12Tertiary qualification related to quality assurance & managementWelding related qualificationISO 9001 Quality Management compliance trainingInternal auditingSupervisory/ Management training advantageous Work Experience:7 Years in a quality/welding environment5 years of conducting measurements on welded/ fabricated products3 years in a supervisory/ management role
