Contracts Manager

Seeking a Contracts Manager with strong leadership skills, a formal tertiary qualification, in-depth construction knowledge, and proven building experience in managing multiple high-value construction projects. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that all contractual obligations are adhered to and that contracts perform favorably for multiple construction projects, from start to final handover and beyond.

Duties (including but not limited to):

  • Contract execution and managing contractual obligations for multiple large-scale, high-value building projects.
  • CCS programming for multiple large-scale, high-value building projects.
  • Interpreting architectural building plans, allocating project timelines, and planning all phases and activities.
  • Project time management and planning for each project in consultation with various parties involved.
  • Quality control and assurance.
  • Resource planning and allocating resources.
  • Controlling costs and budgets of projects.
  • Establishing and maintaining communication with clients and consultants.

Requirements:

  • Minimum formal qualification: Must have at least a B Tech in Building Construction, ideally a BSc in Construction Management.
  • Your formal qualification must be coupled with at least 10 years of proven construction experience in a managerial role as Senior Site Agent, and at least 3 years'' experience at a Contracts Manager level.
  • Civil experience (roads, dams, stormwater, reservoirs, substations, etc.) will NOT be considered as applicable experience.
  • Your experience must include independently managing large-scale, multi-level (minimum 4 levels), high-value, upmarket projects, and managing the contractual aspect thereof.
  • Your experience must include managing multiple high-value projects in terms of execution and contracts.
  • In-depth knowledge of JBCC contracts and the claim, delay, and notification process.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience in drawing up and managing a construction program, including timelines and critical paths for entire projects using CCS computer program.
  • Excellent organizing abilities, communication skills, problem assessment, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must have a stable career history.
