Woodworking Facility ManagerLocation: Airport City, Cape Town (Wood & Metal Division)Contract Type: PermanentRemuneration: Market-related / NegotiableAbout the CompanyWe are a leading manufacturer of premium patio umbrellas and wooden sun loungers, proudly serving the hospitality and retail industries.Our dedicated woodworking division transforms raw hardwoods into high-quality finished goods, with a focus on craftsmanship, durability, and design excellence. Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Facility Manager to oversee operations at our wood and metal production facility. The successful candidate will lead a skilled team of artisans and production staff, ensuring efficient workflows, machine performance, and top-tier quality standards. Key ResponsibilitiesManage all woodworking operations from raw material intake to final product assemblyOversee production schedules, resource allocation, and workflow planningEnsure quality control for umbrellas, loungers, and custom wood productsImplement and enforce health & safety protocols across the facilityLead, train, and mentor production staff to maintain high performanceMonitor stock levels, hardware, and consumables for uninterrupted productionCollaborate with senior management on targets, timelines, and continuous improvementIdentify and resolve bottlenecks to optimize production efficiency Minimum RequirementsProven experience managing a woodworking or manufacturing facilityStrong knowledge of hardwoods, joinery, and finishing techniquesAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and production plansExcellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skillsUnderstanding of machinery maintenance and production flow optimizationStrong communication skills and ability to work collaborativelyBackground in furniture manufacturing or related wood/metal industries is highly desirable
