They are currently seeking a Senior Accountant – Investment Management to join their team on a 7-month fixed-term contract. This is a great opportunity to apply your technical expertise and contribute to strategic financial decision-making.Position: Senior Accountant – Investment Management (7?month fixed-term contract)The successful incumbent will manage end-to-end accounting, reporting, and compliance across multiple investment entities and funds. This role is responsible for preparing IFRS-compliant financial statements, SARB and regulatory reporting, and management reports — while providing technical financial insight to support strategic decision-making.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent (Honours preferred)Completed SAICA/SAIPA articles or equivalent qualificationMinimum 5?years post-articles experience, preferably in financial services, investment management, or auditingStrong knowledge of IFRS and relevant financial reporting standardsDemonstrated experience in SARB reporting, regulatory filings, and exchange control complianceAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, dynamic modelling)Proven experience using Caseware for financial-statement preparation (non-negotiable)Strong understanding of investment structures, valuation principles, and fund accounting conceptsExperience in budgeting, forecasting, and management reportingKey Responsibilities Investment & Fund AccountingPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRSManage daily accounting services for assigned investment entities and fundsPerform month-end reconciliations and ensure timely closesMaintain investment registers, valuation schedules, and fair-value adjustments (IFRS?9 & IFRS?13)Prepare SARB submissions, exchange control reports, and approvalsCoordinate annual audits and prepare financial statements with supporting documentationManage cashflows, funding schedules, and expense monitoring across funds and investment entitiesConduct financial analysis to support investment decision-makingLiaise with tax advisors and SARS on computations and deferred tax reconciliationsBudget & Cost ManagementPrepare, monitor, and report on budgets, forecasts, and cost performanceProvide insights and leadership on improving profitability and cost efficiencyPresent financial and budget reports to management and stakeholdersGovernance, Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirementsSupport financial forecasting and risk-analysis processesMaintain robust internal controls to safeguard fund and entity assetsStakeholder ManagementBuild and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across the businessRespond to stakeholder inquiries and requests to ensure efficient business relationships
