The role focuses on maintaining optimal stock levels, cost-effective sourcing, efficient dispatch operations, and fleet management.
The ideal candidate will drive operational efficiencies, ensure supplier compliance, and optimize fleet utilization while managing costs.

Key Responsibilities:
Stores Management:
  • Oversee stock management across multiple locations, ensuring optimal stock levels.
  • Balance stock holdings with operational requirements to prevent overstocking or shortages.
  • Implement stock optimization strategies to ensure working capital is not tied up unnecessarily.
  • Monitor inventory trends and forecast demand to enhance stock replenishment strategies.
  • Conduct regular stock audits and implement measures to minimize shrinkage and obsolescence.
Procurement:
  • Develop and manage procurement policies, ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Set and monitor reorder levels to prevent stockouts or excessive inventory.
  • Manage procurement processes, from sourcing to authorizations and approvals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate favourable pricing and terms.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives in procurement.
Supplier Documentation Management:
  • Oversee the document flow from purchase orders to Goods Received Vouchers (GRV) and supplier invoices.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices for approval and payment.
  • Coordinate with finance and accounts teams for seamless supplier payment processing.
  • Maintain proper documentation and records to ensure compliance with auditing requirements.
Dispatch Operations:
  • Manage stock dispatch processes to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
  • Optimize fleet utilization and ensure efficient use of driver hours.
  • Develop strategies to improve reduce transportation costs.
  • Monitor order fulfilment rates and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Fleet Management:
  • Oversee fleet operations, including vehicle maintenance, servicing, and replacements.
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained in good working condition and comply with safety regulations.
  • Monitor and report on maintenance costs and fuel consumption to optimize operational expenses.
  • Develop fleet utilization strategies to improve cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Implement systems for tracking vehicle usage, performance, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Experience in fleet management and supplier negotiations.
  • Knowledge of relevant compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in the poultry or agricultural sector (advantageous).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management, procurement processes, and supply chain optimization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Knowledge of fleet management, including maintenance scheduling and cost control.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software.
  • Strong financial acumen to manage procurement budgets and cost control.
