Key Responsibilities:
  • Inventory Management:
    • Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure that stock is available when needed.
    • Conduct regular stock takes and reconcile physical stock with system records.
    • Identify discrepancies and investigate any issues related to stock variances.
  • Order Management:
    • Process and track incoming and outgoing orders.
    • Liaise with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods.
    • Coordinate with the purchasing department to manage reordering processes.
  • Stock Handling and Storage:
    • Ensure that stock is stored safely and efficiently.
    • Implement and maintain effective stock rotation practices.
    • Oversee the loading and unloading of goods.
  • Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate records of stock movements, including goods received, issued, and returned.
    • Update inventory management systems with real-time data.
    • Prepare reports on stock levels, usage patterns, and potential shortages.
  • Quality Control:
    • Inspect goods for quality and report any damaged or defective items.
    • Ensure that all stock is labeled and stored according to company standards.
  • Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper storage of hazardous materials.
    • Adhere to company policies and procedures related to inventory management.
  • Team Coordination:
    • Work closely with other departments, such as procurement, sales, and logistics, to ensure seamless operations.
    • Train and supervise junior staff involved in stock handling.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum qualification of a National Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field; Bachelors degree would be advantageous.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a stock control or inventory management role.
  • Experience with inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Syspro) is preferred.
