Cost Accountant

In this role, you will be at the heart of financial decision-making, analysing and managing costs across production processes. Youll collaborate with cross-functional teamsproduction, purchasing, and managementto ensure accurate financial data that drives business success Key ResponsibilitiesInvestigate and correct material over/under recoveries and abnormal cost increasesPrepare manufacturing cost centre budgets and forecasts; calculate recovery ratesProcess and reconcile weekly/monthly wages accurately and on timeEnsure accurate reporting of inventory balances and compliance with valuation policiesAnalyse product profitability, bill of materials, and machine rate calculationsReport on purchase price and labour variances; recommend improvementsAccrue and analyse freight and clearing costs, review warranty provisionsReconcile key balance sheet accounts and drive process improvementsSupport month-end closing, capital expenditure requests, and audit activitiesPrepare management reports for Manco & OpscoMonitor cycle count programs and support physical inventory countsEnsure compliance with QMS standardsWhat you bring:Qualifications:Com Accounting or equivalentStudying towards or CIMA qualified (advantageous) Experience:Minimum 10+ years in Cost AccountingExposure to global monthly/quarterly reporting (advantageous)Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and manufacturing processesExperience with budgeting and forecastingCharacter:Detail-oriented, analytical thinker, proactive problem-solver.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.Technical Skills:Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (strong Excel skills).Ability to analyse large datasets; familiarity with Power Query, Power BI, etc.Why join?Imagine being the go-to expert for cost analysis, inventory valuation, and budgeting.
