Joining their team means contributing to a business committed to efficiency, growth, and high-performance standards.The Role: Metallurgical OperatorAs a Metallurgical Operator, you will provide technical support to the Production Superintendent by conducting process audits, monitoring quality control, and driving continuous improvement across plant operations. You will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with best practices, safety, and legal requirements, while also developing technical staff through training, coaching, and succession planning.Key ResponsibilitiesMinimum 5 years of experience in DMS and recovery or separation technology, with at least 3 years at a senior management levelConduct process audits to ensure compliance with standards, procedures, and legislationMonitor, manage, and improve quality control across all plant processesPerform metallurgical test work and compile accurate technical reportsCollaborate with production teams to implement process improvements and optimise equipment utilisationDevelop and track production budgets, submitting capital and strategic expenditure proposals where requiredDrive training, coaching, and succession planning to build team capabilityEnsure strict compliance with health, safety, environmental, and security regulationsAbout YouDegree in a Metallurgical-related discipline from a recognised institution (Code 8 licence required)Management qualification (advantageous)8+ years of experience in metallurgical operations, with 5 years at a senior management level preferredStrong technical knowledge of diamond processing plants, DMS, and recovery circuitsSkilled in metallurgical auditing, quality control, and reportingSolid understanding of best practices in metallurgical processes, safety, and environmental standardsProficient in MS Office and technical reportingStrong leadership, coaching, and teamwork abilitiesClear criminal record with security/police clearance
