Job Purpose
  • Deliver brand plans and implement brand strategy for Dulux Flourish Consumer
  • Manage and analyze the product portfolio and recognize market needs
  • Identify and manage project opportunities
  • Drive profitable share growth

Key Accountabilities

Key activities:

  • To deliver a South Africa Flourish consumer product portfolio against the optimal criteria of quality, performance, cost and lowest environmental impact.
  • Manage product portfolio based on high degree of consumer, customer, competitor and category insight
  • Optimise assortment
  • Product quality optimisation
  • Pack optimisation
  • SLOB
  • Strategies and plans
  • Support projects with insights and product related input
  • Manage technical information on pack (BOP) with support from LTS/TSD
  • Manage, in conjunction with global/local R&D and regulatory team, that product technical data like safety data sheets, safety data labelling are up to date.
  • Analyse and understand market situation, based on market research, sales figures and use these inputs as the basis of actions: brand plan, new product development proposals, etc
  • Pricing – responsibility for pricing with assistance from Pricing Manager and Sales
  • Manage volume, profit & loss on category and SKU level
  • Be the link between marketing, Technical Support, Sales and R&D regarding product issues (quality, application properties etc)
  • Support sales in developing product stories and assets to strengthen product and claims communication and drive brand / product preference
  • Lead market implementation via training and implementation workshops (eg. Sales briefs) and regular tracking (Sales & marketing meetings/PMR).
  • Be familiar with all the applicable corporate as well as site policies/procedures with regard to personal conduct and HSE standards and acting in compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Be familiar with sustainability requirements and available marketing sustainability materials for local markets
Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or equivalent qualification
  • Broad based and extensive skill and competence in the key performance areas listed (5-7years)
  • Brand activation experience
  • In-depth knowledge and skill in MS Office Packages' SAP R3
  • Commercial and financial acumen are key requirements as well as project management & Gensight
  • Travel required within this portfolio locally, within Southern Africa and globally in accordance with operational demands.
