reach52 is on the lookout for a Strategy Associate to contribute to its noble cause of enhancing healthcare accessibility for 52% of the global population currently deprived of it. As a vital member of the team, you will play a key role in bolstering our access strategy across sub-Saharan Africa, with the opportunity to shape and enhance our operational business framework. The ideal candidate should possess a profound understanding of the healthcare landscape in Africa, along with a track record of analyzing healthcare data and formulating strategies to bridge existing access gaps. Prior involvement in the pharmaceutical industry would be advantageous. Your pivotal role in propelling access growth demands innovative thinking and a readiness to embrace novel approaches.

Responsibilities

The primary duties and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Conducting market research on healthcare trends and access deficiencies in Africa.
  • Aiding in the formulation of the operational strategy for Africa.
  • Facilitating program operationalization, including distributor and partner selection and management.
  • Identifying, assessing, and cultivating relationships with potential partners in prioritized African nations.
  • Overseeing and steering the commercial activities of local distribution partners, ensuring their access to reach52 technology and intelligence, as well as compliance with price and availability agreements.
  • Assisting partners in devising commercialization strategies to optimize outreach and revenue.
  • Supplying market insights to manufacturing teams regarding product prioritization strategies.
  • Developing market forecasts and order objectives for relevant regions.
  • Collaborating extensively with cross-functional teams to meet commercial objectives.
  • Proactively pinpointing bottlenecks and obstacles, devising strategies to enhance the speed and efficiency of new product introductions.
  • Offering support for government engagements as needed by regional and global leadership.
  • Contributing insights to the enhancement of reach52's supportive technological platform, ensuring alignment with user and stakeholder requirements, modern standards, and expectations.
  • Evaluating existing processes and partnerships, spearheading and overseeing enhancement initiatives such as evaluating warehouse locations and vendor comparisons.

Desired Profile

  • Accumulated 5+ years of experience in healthcare strategy development.
  • Thorough grasp of health system dynamics in Africa.
  • Extensive background in strategic planning, market analysis, and business expansion.
  • History of working in a startup-like environment with the ability to think on your feet and autonomously.
  • Proficiency in constructing financial models and impactful PowerPoint presentations.
  • Display of high autonomy and an entrepreneurial spirit, capable of balancing the big picture with fine details.
  • A fervor for healthcare access, innovation, and social impact – with the mission to eliminate the healthcare access gap for 52% of the population.
  • An agile, industrious, growth-oriented mindset suitable for a dynamic work setting – one that encourages growth and flexibility.
  • Strong analytical skills and the capacity to distill complex information into precise strategies and directions – favoring data-driven impact models.
