Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

Event Planning and Coordination:

  • Plan and coordinate events such as student orientations, workshops, seminars, volunteer projects, and social activities.
  • Collaborate with the Student Affairs Support Team to ensure events are wellorganized and aligned with Masambeni's mission.
  • Develop event concepts and oversee logistics, including venue selection, vendor management, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for seamless event execution

Social Media Management:

  • Create and manage content for Masambeni's social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Produce engaging posts, videos, stories, and graphics that resonate with our audience.
  • Monitor social media channels, respond to comments/messages, and engage with the online community.

Community Associate Duties:

  • Build and maintain relationships with community members, students, and partners.
  • Respond to inquiries professionally and promptly.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive community environment.
  • Organize communitybuilding activities and initiatives.

Reception and Administrative Support:

Handle general inquiries, phone calls, and correspondence courteously

  • Maintain databases, spreadsheets, and filing systems.
  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing office supplies.

Qualifications:

  • Background in event management, marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Proven experience in event planning and coordination, preferably in the travel tourism sector.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a creative flair for storytelling and content creation.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and management tools, as well as basic graphic design skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced, teamoriented environment.
  • Passion for education, social impact, and creating memorable experiences for students.
  • Experience working with international interns and understanding of their unique needs and challenges.
  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to engage effectively with a diverse, global community.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with community members and external partners.
  • Problemsolving skills and the ability to handle conflicts and resolve issues amicably.
