Background:


My Client is looking for a dynamic, results-oriented individual to work as a Portfolio Lead for National Government initiatives and programmes.

A learning mindset and an attitude to continuously learn to improve will be critical for success.

This individual must have great relationship management and a client-delighting mindset, as well as a strong delivery capability to ensure the client deliver on their strategic goal; to institutionalise their solutions to employ young people in government and increase youth access to Public Employment Programmes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive and develop the National Government portfolio strategy and delivery plan to meet the targets
  • Manage and unlock government demand and relationships through a robust stakeholder engagement plan
  • Partner with the project support office to determine the organizational capacity required to execute on and manage projects within the portfolio
  • Develop a clear engagement strategy for the institutionalising of the SA Youth platform into national departments and their youth constituencies
  • Partner with the Impact and Learning teams to use Pathways Intelligence and Insights in advocacy for SA Youth as a demonstration of an effective sourcing and Pathwaying solution for Public Employment Programmes
  • Provide programmatic oversight to the different stakeholders holding relationships in government and collaborate with those working in other spheres e.g. industries, functions and areas of Harambee
  • Develop and share insights that will advocate for the adoption of SA Youth in various departments at a national level
  • Advocate for the recruitment of youth in marginalised populations e.g. persons with disabilities
  • Build of strategic government relationships that can ensure an ability to influence and/or provide inputs into policy and incentives that could increase the impact on youth

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelors' Degree in Business/Commerce, Public Administration, International Relations or equivalent
  • Minimum 35 years' experience managing key and complex stakeholders with dynamic demands
  • Minimum 35 years' experience working on the delivery of projects and/or programmes within or with the government sector
  • Minimum 35 years' experience managing teams working on complex delivery and programmes

Desirable:

  • Master's degree in a strategy or business discipline
  • Good understanding of South Africa's political landscape
  • Experience managing large crossfunctional teams across geographies
  • Demonstrated competence and passion for empowering youth and other vulnerable persons
  • Communication skills in other South African languages
  • A moderate understanding of technology platforms
