Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with authorities to ensure company objectives in terms of legal compliance are achieved.
  • Liaise with project managers on environmental projects and report on progress.
  • Monitor and report on environmental indicators to ensure internal objectives and targets are met.
  • Lead, organise and conduct internal compliance audits.
  • Manage, maintain, and improve the company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management System in line with company standards.
  • Lead the drive for continual improvement of these standards throughout the company.
  • Prepare and submit all Client vetting documentation requirements.
  • Ensure company has all the required mandatory and regulatory appointments.
  • Facilitates all forms of risk assessment e.g., general, fire prevention and acts as a final authority where a specialist response is required in relation to risk assessments performed by others.
  • Implement and conduct health and safety inspections and audits program including the completion of documentation of compliance and corrective actions taken or to be taken.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Matric/Grade 1
  • A National Diploma or B Tech in Environmental Management or related qualification.
  • 5 years' experience as an environmental Officer/manager.
  • Demonstrate experience in undertaking due diligence.
  • Proven track record and experience with environmental best practices and industrial environmental management
