Financial Director

We are a well funded startup in the hospitality sector in South Africa and now recruiting a Financial Director to develop and manage our financial department and this include the monthly and annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to establish revenue and expense targets.
It also include conducting financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making and cost optimization, preparing the financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other relevant financial analyses.
The financial director will collaborate with the operations director and the sales and marketing team to develop pricing strategies and optimize revenue generation.
Responsibilities will include analyzing market trends, competitive pricing, and demand patterns to recommend pricing adjustments and revenue enhancement opportunities.Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS) and corporate policies.
Maintain strong financial controls and compliance with local tax regulations, financial regulations, and statutory requirements.
Evaluate vendor contracts and negotiate favorable terms to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs.
Implement and maintain inventory control systems to minimize inventory carrying costs and prevent losses.
Assess the financial impact of capital expenditure projects and monitor their implementation and return on investment (ROI).
The Successful Applicant
Will have a Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, qualified and registered as a CA (SA) with the relevant accounting bodies in South Africa.
3 to 5 years as a CA (SA) within the hotel or retail industry.In-depth knowledge of financial accounting principles, practices, and standards.
Excellent understanding of revenue management principles and pricing strategies.
Familiarity with hotel operations, industry trends, and market dynamics.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
The financial director reports to the managing director.
