Junior IT Technician

Requirements:

  • To be available to work after hours as and when required.
  • To be on be on standby on public holidays should the company require IT assistance
  • Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position
  • Excellent diagnostic and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent communication ability
  • Attention to detail.
  • Communicate efficiently between the branches.
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Outstanding organizational and timemanagement skills
  • In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
  • Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
  • Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field
  • Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT
Professional

  • Own Vehicle and Driver's License
  • Willing to travel to other Stores / Branches
  • Work with outsourced contractors for jobs
  • Work individually as well as part of a team
  • Work with other service providers i.e., ISP, IT Service Provider etc.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installing and configuring hardware / software & network components to ensure usability
remotely or on site

  • Troubleshooting and attending to all hardware / software & networking issue remotely or on
site

  • Ensuring electrical safety standards are met.
  • Installing and upgrading antivirus software to ensure security at the user level.
  • Performing tests and evaluations of new software and hardware.
  • Providing support to users and being the first point of contact for error reporting.
  • Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues.
  • Conducting daily backup operations.
  • Managing technical documentation.
  • Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
  • Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
  • Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer
equipment

  • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing
their work

  • Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
  • Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders in advance
  • Ensuring to work as meticulously as possible
  • Learn and keep upto date with latest standards and practises
  • Create systems and processes when needed and implement
  • IT asset management (ensuring we keep track of all our equipment's i.e., warranty, invoice
no. serial no.)

  • Setting up mobile phones for users
  • Ensure camera systems are in full working order at all times
  • Ensuring there is mínimal downtime to the business across the board whether it's the internet
connectivity / computer / printer / phones etc.

  • Logging calls with service providers
  • Have a backup plan in the event you are not at work, other people must know what they
should do if a case occurs.

  • Management of service providers
