Requirements:

  • Appropriate communication skills to successfully deal with many different internal as well as external parties at all levels
  • Good quantitative as well as IT exposure to operational issues
  • Financial logistics management exposure and site budgeted cost control
  • Overall management and control of site facilities, equipment, assets and resources in line with company and legislative requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years recent experience in a senior logistics position
  • Possession of a recognised business management qualification would be an advantage
  • Needs to be experienced in warehousing especially on a senior level
  • Experience in management of a logistics site and associated operational teams
  • Automotive logistics management experience; Automotive Production logistics (JIT / JIS) experience advantageous
  • A selfstarter that can work largely independent

Accountabilities

  • Experienced in Management of warehouses, distribution and site delivery operations to contractual performance levels in an automotive logistics environment, to budget and to ISO/OHSA requirements
  • Managing multiple client relationships, which possibly includes constructing and hosting regular performance reviews
  • Management of large operational headcount both in terms of operational performance and support of P&O related matters across multishift operating times
  • Management of supplier relationships as well as performance supporting DB Schenker operational capabilities and cost management
  • Management and responsibility of the sites P&L and regular reporting on financial status of the operation to line management
  • Managing relationship with other company divisions as and when required
  • Any other duties required to ensure that the company brand remains perceived by the market as being superior
  • Handson enablement of logistics implementation projects and logistics development activities
  • It is expected that this position will generate innovative new solutions and cost effective ways of doing things as a matter of course
  • Strong focus on achievement of set KPI's and financials as well as other logistics targets
  • Proactive and assertive approach to logistics projects with emphasis on process improvements as well as bottom line optimisation

  • Monday to Friday 08h00 to 17h00
  • This might vary from division to division and based on operational requirements as needed
  • Overtime might be required from timetotime, based on operational needs
