Opportunity available as a Floor Manager based in Centurion.

You will be responsible for creating a positive shopping experience for our customers and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the store.

You will lead a team of sales associates, manage inventory, and maintain the store's appearance, all while fostering a welcoming and pet-friendly environment.


Qualifications:

  • Grade 1 2+ years of experience in retail management, preferably in a pet shop or a related industry.
  • Passion for animals and a genuine interest in pet care and wellbeing.
  • Must be AFRIKAANS and English.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in pointofsale (POS) systems and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise, train, and motivate a team of sales associates, ensuring they provide excellent customer service and are knowledgeable about our products.
  • Schedule staff shifts and manage staffing levels to meet customer demand.

Customer Service:

  • Greet and assist customers, addressing their petrelated needs and inquiries.
  • Ensure that customers have a positive shopping experience by providing guidance and expert advice on pet care and product selection.
  • Handle customer feedback and concerns professionally and promptly.

Inventory Management:

  • Oversee inventory levels, including ordering and restocking of pet supplies.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to minimize shortages and overstock situations.
  • Collaborate with the purchasing department to maintain a diverse and appealing product selection.

Visual Merchandising:

  • Ensure that the store layout and displays are visually appealing and in line with the company's branding and merchandising guidelines.
  • Create eyecatching product displays that promote featured items and seasonal products.

Store Maintenance:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the store, including pet care areas, aisles, and common areas.
  • Enforce safety and sanitation protocols, especially in pet care areas.
  • Perform routine inspections to identify and address any maintenance issues.

Sales and Revenue Growth:

  • Set and achieve sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the store.
  • Encourage upselling and crossselling of pet products and services.
  • Analyze sales trends and customer feedback to make informed business decisions.

Pet Care Advocacy:

  • Promote responsible pet ownership and pet health by sharing information on nutrition, grooming, and general pet care.
  • Assist customers in selecting appropriate pet food and supplies based on their pet's specific needs.
