MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
As a finance manager specializing in fixed assets, the main role involves supporting the Head of Finance. This support includes managing fixed assets effectively, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and implementing financial procedures to enhance the organization's financial health. The goal is to ensure smooth operations, maintain financial stability, and optimize fixed asset delivery.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Fixed Asset Management:
  • Coordinate with regional office managers to verify and transfer assets as per the agreed process.
  • Assess and address gaps in fixed assets promptly.
  • Implement automated processes for fixed assets in collaboration with the Head of Finance.
  • Review and update Asset Management SOP.
  • Ensure accurate depreciation of assets.
  • Manage vendor relationships related to fixed asset management.
  • Collaborate with different departments to ensure proper management of fixed assets.
  • Implement and oversee asset management plan.
  1. Disposal, purchasing, transfer, capitalization, and depreciation of assets.
  • Support asset project plan execution.
  • Ensure physical verification of assets.

2. Financial Statements and Reporting:
  • Produce comprehensive financial reports on assets.
  • Assist in reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Provide information for financial presentations and audits.

3. Improving and Implementing Financial Management:
  • Participate in enhancing financial literacy and internal controls.
  • Analyze and communicate financial data.

4. People Management:
  • Manage staff according to policies and procedures.
  • Assist in recruitment, performance reviews, and training.

5. System Implementations:
  • Participate in system upgrades and implementation.
  • Support other system initiatives.

6. Stakeholder Management:
  • Develop relationships with financial institutions, auditors, and stakeholders.
  • Assist in audits and maintain good working relationships.

7. Ad Hoc Activities:
  • Support with cost recoveries and payments reviews.
  • Assist in other ad hoc activities.


QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1. Minimum Qualification and Experience:
  • B Compt / BCom Hons/ Professional accountant.
  • 3-6 years financial management experience.
  • Expertise in fixed assets management.
  • Staff management experience.
  • Knowledge of financial policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Enterprise resource planning experience.

2. Behavioral Competencies and Skills:
  • Management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and teamwork skills.

3. Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
