The purpose of the role is to design, implement, and maintain the company's Linux-based infrastructure.

The Linux Systems Administrator will collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure the reliability and security of the systems, as well as to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise.


System Administration

  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance.
  • Implement and maintain system security strategies and best practices.
  • Monitor the Zabbix infrastructure for system health and performance, maintain customer SLA's (from data availability point of view).
  • Creation of dashboards, manage data sources Design and implement dashboards on Zabbix and Grafana tailored for the NOC, Core Team, and Customers.
  • Configure data sources in Grafana to ensure accurate and reliable data retrieval.
  • Ensure seamless integration between monitoring tools and dashboards for effective monitoring and analysis.

Infrastructure Management:

  • Manage and optimize server infrastructure, including hardware, virtualization, and cloud resources.
  • Collaborate with NOC and Core team to ensure seamless integration of Linux systems with other technologies.
  • Regularly monitor server health, resource usage, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Capacity Management: to ensure that all systems are running at optimal capacity and be able to plan well in advance for future expansion or upgrades based on organizational and customer needs.
  • Responsible for design of infrastructure with resilience always being the key driver to work towards.

Automation:

  • Implement automation tools and scripts to streamline routine tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Work towards continuous improvement and optimization of system administration processes.
  • Build and maintain existing ansible playbooks and API's

Must have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a Linux Systems Administrator or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and opensource software.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation.
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols and security principles.
  • Excellent problemsolving and communication skills.
  • Certifications such as RHCE or LPIC are a plus.

Pay:
R20 000,00 - R40 000,00 per month
