Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and executing financial strategies, plans, and policies in line with the company's goals and industry best practices.
  • Overseeing the accurate and timely preparation of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, forecasts, and production costs.
  • Managing budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes for optimal financial performance and resource allocation.
  • Performing financial analysis and risk assessment to identify opportunities for cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitoring and evaluating financial performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress towards objectives.
  • Offering strategic financial guidance and support to senior management, department heads, and stakeholders.
  • Managing relationships with external stakeholders such as financial institutions, auditors, regulatory authorities, and government agencies.
  • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Leading and nurturing a high-performing finance team, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Establishing and implementing costing methodologies for primary produce and finished goods to maximize profitability.
  • Developing costing models to accurately capture all relevant costs associated with production and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish standardized costing practices and data collection procedures.
  • Conducting regular reviews of costing systems to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Providing training and support on costing system usage to stakeholders.
  • Evaluating and refining costing methodologies in response to changing business needs.
  • Promoting best practices in costing and cost management for efficiency and transparency.
  • Utilizing costing insights for strategic decision-making and pricing optimization.
  • Staying updated on industry trends and incorporating relevant innovations into practices.
  • Owning all accounting functions up to financial statement level, processing salaries and wages, and ensuring compliance with regulators and submission of VAT Returns.
Qualifications and Experience
  • CIMA qualified with 1-2 years experience or BCom Management Accounting with 4-6 years Cost Accounting experience in Farming, Manufacturing, Wine Production, Food Processing or similar.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations within Agriculture and Manufacturing/Food Processing sectors.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex financial data.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, including ERP systems, Excel, and financial modeling techniques.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities with a focus on driving financial performance and business growth.
  • High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
