National Parts Manager: Automotive

The candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring key outputs are delivered efficiently within the team.

The National Parts Manager will oversee all parts, ensuring timely delivery to dealers and maintaining adequate stock levels at the warehouse. Working from the Parts Warehouse, the candidate will focus on assisting dealers effectively with vehicle parts.

In the long run, the candidate will strive to exceed business objectives and contribute to the company's enduring success.

Responsibilities:

  • Forecast parts needs and maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Set goals and objectives for the department, striving to achieve them.
  • Handle purchase order processing from ordering to delivery.
  • Source quality accessories at reasonable costs.
  • Track order shipments.
  • Support field service personnel when needed.
  • Achieve monthly sales targets.
  • Ensure high first pick and fill rates.
  • Maintain dealers' accounts.
  • Process supplier payments promptly.
  • Recruit, train, motivate, and monitor parts department staff.
  • Manage the parts department budget.
  • Establish pricing strategies for profitability and customer loyalty.
  • Optimize parts inventory turnover.
  • Control stock levels and minimize obsolescence.
  • Supervise stock ordering processes.
  • Enforce parts ordering policies.
  • Analyze sales, expenses, and inventory regularly.
  • Provide consistent high-quality service to internal dealership customers.
  • Attend managers' meetings and conduct weekly department meetings.
  • Analyze department operations, revise layouts for effectiveness.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving processes for efficiency.
  • Develop sales promotions and handle customer complaints.
  • Account for all dealership purchases and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Report monthly sales targets, profits, and stock levels to Aftersales Manager.
  • Understand import/export procedures and pricing calculations.
  • Conduct competitor analysis for pricing strategies.
  • Monthly dealer performance analysis and ad hoc responsibilities from Senior Management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Matric qualification.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience in a similar role.
  • Prior OEM experience advantageous.

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
