Finance Controller | Finance Lead CBD, Cape Town

Listed and reputable Property Fund concern is in search of a dynamic Finance individual to provide a finance and operational support role to their team dynamic team of Professionals and Stakeholders.

R40 000 R60 000 Per Month Highly Negotiable and Dependent on Qualification and Years of relevant experience

Key Duties and Responsibilities include:

Accounting record maintenance producing a monthly TB and importing it to QuickConsol system

  • Full accounting for head office companies will need to be prepared quarterly Bank recons, creditor recons, payments, journals, maintaining schedules
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining supporting schedules such as debt schedules, asset schedules, etc.
  • Managing and compiling this information where operating entities are outsourced

Assisting with management and statutory Reporting

  • Preparing monthly reports for single entities where required
  • Preparing the quarterly Management Report for the group
  • Preparing the monthly cash flow report for the group
  • Assisting with audits of each company, ensure deadlines met at company level, information is provided on time, etc.

Assisting with maintaining banking relationships

  • Managing banking queries and the group bank accounts including opening and closing new accounts.
  • Managing debt obligations for the group such as testing and reporting on covenants, draw down requests, ad hoc requests
  • Preparing information for new debt requests, refinance, and facility reviews.

Compliance

  • Assisting with stock exchange (JSE, BSE and SEM) compliance, information requests, sponsor requests, etc.
  • KYC for various stakeholders across the group
  • Managing relationships with sponsors, legal, brokers, etc.
  • Acting as point of contact for the company secretary
  • Review and preparation of correspondence as required

Planning and budgeting

  • Maintaining team calendar, driving deadlines especially with external stakeholders
  • Assisting with budgeting process at a group level in terms of:
  • ensuring budgeting deadlines are met by external stakeholders
  • Importing or manging the import of the budgets into the QuickConsol system
  • Reconciling actuals to budgets and identifying and explaining variances

Payments and cash/treasury management

  • Review and second release of business unit payments
  • Monitoring Group liquidity to ensure the company can meets its obligations and maximise return on working capital
  • Ensuring all payment/debt payments are paid on time
  • Taking the lead on managing the online banking platforms, keeping track of access & authority limits, and ensuring that the payments process is correctly controlled in the online system.

All SARS compliance

  • VAT returns
  • Provisional Tax returns
  • Income tax calculations and lodging of tax returns
  • Changes on SARS online system
  • Ensuring entities have tax clearance certification
Any other request that would fit within the normal financial management of the group.

Qualification, Skills and Experience required:

CA (SA) or
CIMA or BSC or AGA or Finance related Degree:

  • Completed articles with experience gained within the property fund / asset management / financial services arena being advantageous

5+ Years relevant financial accounting experience gained ideally within the property sector:

  • Proficiency on
    MS Excel is essential
  • Information gathering and problem analysis skills
  • Strong
    fundamentals in accounting, being able to
    reconcile financial information and accuracy and attention to
    detail are is key to success in this role
