Tsebo Facilies solution is looking for Technical Supervisor who will be responsible for the technical aspects of the RCL Foods property, including machines, mechanical systems, buildings and other structures with regard to reactive and preventative maintenance in line with the Master Service Agreement requirements for the contract.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Operational Delivery:

  • Implement maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.
  • Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues.
  • Check electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure functionality.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained in a condition that does not compromise safety
  • Organize repair projects in a manner that does not disturb guests/operations
  • Supervise tradesmen during installations, repairs or maintenance (electricians, plumbers etc.)
  • Perform inspections to ensure maintenance of building systems (heating, ventilation etc.)
  • Ensure planned maintenance tasks as per works order allocated by Technical Manager.
  • Assess requirement for spares and consumables and purchase from suppliers.
  • Note all relevant details on job card
  • Spares used and return of unused spare and consumables.
  • Description of work done

  • Problems encountered
  • All equipment and services are restored timeously and performs in accordance with its standard operating procedures/specs.
  • No delay in completion of works as a result of spares and consumables not requisitioned.
  • Review completed planned maintenance tasks signed off by Contracts Manager or Supervisor to confirm satisfactory completion.
  • Ensure all planned maintenance on machinery are carried out
  • Ensure weekly testing of fire systems and generators are done.
Weekly and daily reporting to client and facilities managerMonitor inventory of materials and equipment and place orders when necessary

  • Participation in the coordination and implementation of projects (e.g., renovations)
  • Ensure planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks are allocated and attended to.
  • Ensure that best operating practice is applied when undertaking maintenance tasks/repairs and the successful execution thereof.
  • Ensure the workshop and areas of work is always kept tidy and presentable.
  • Ensure the best physical resources available to complete maintenance tasks within budget.
  • Plan, organise and oversee all repair and installation activities
  • Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff (custodians, janitors etc.)
  • Assist to monitor the maintenance expenses and budget
  • Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.
  • Manage daily maintenance logs and report on daily activities when required.
  • Set KPI's for staff reporting into you and manage performance.

Planned Maintenance:

Skills and Competencies:

  • Solid understanding of plumbing and electrical systems as well as carpentry and other crafts.
  • Knowledge using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.)
  • Knowledge in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, callipers etc.)
  • Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties advantageous
  • Knowledge in all maintenance processes and health and safety regulations.
  • Strong technical knowledge of all building systems (electrical, heating etc.)
  • Excellent customer relation skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, organise and control own work effort.
  • Be familiar with construction related activities and functions.
  • Have multidisciplinary basics and exceptional expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 1
  • Appropriate tertiary technical education and experience (Electrical trade test certificate, Wireman's License advantageous)
