Essential Skills Requirements:

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree with a minimum of 3 years' experience in capital controlling in a manufacturing environment OR Chartered Accountant (SA) qualification.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire process of Capital Invest Applications (CIA) from initiation to project closure, adhering to Invest Planning Handbook, Invest Guideline, and IFRS compliance.
  • Review and approve shopping carts in accordance with guidelines, IFRS, Tax, and AIS requirements.
  • Capitalize complex assets (including spare parts) in SAP while complying with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), tax laws, and AIS guidelines. Maintain comprehensive backup documentation for capitalizations.
  • Ensure timely capitalizations (no aging of items in CWIP
  • Capital Work in Progress).
  • Oversee asset tagging and verification, maintaining sufficient supporting documentation.
  • Manage the asset disposal process, including auctions of obsolete assets, reconciling proceeds, invoicing, and adhering to all relevant legal requirements.
  • Maintain the asset register, including annual reviews of useful life and zero value assets.
  • Assist with monthend, quarterend, and yearend closing and reporting related to fixed assets, ensuring compliance with relevant IFRS, including reporting into the German invest interface (MORE).
  • Provide regular reporting to Technologies on asset breakdowns, asset tagging, and invest expenditure for the year (SAZ).
  • Execute budget/forecast for depreciation, tax, invest, AIS amortization, and cash flow.
  • Prepare and update relevant guidelines for Capex and Asset controlling.
  • Identify and implement improvements to the IT system for asset and capital controlling to ensure compliance with IFRS, tax, and AIS. Implement enhancements to achieve process efficiency.
  • Perform testing and assess the functioning/design of internal controls in the area of responsibility (ICS compliance).
  • Assist with the preparation of any audits.
  • Ensure training and knowledge transfer of capex and asset processes to Technologies.
  • Provide assistance with adhoc projects/requests as required.
