Applications are invited from suitably experienced persons for the position of a Transport Controller
(Nightshift) based in Pretoria, Gauteng Head Office. This position reports into the Imports
Manager. The successful incumbent will be responsible for leading the nightshift team of drivers to ensure
timeous and efficient movement of containers.

Duties & Responsibilities
Planning delivery/ shunting with cold store facilities.
Liaise with various shipping lines to arrange releases and attend to queries and/or any
discrepancies.
Arrange bookings on the Transnet NAVIS system.
Capture cargo due orders on the Transnet Ports Online (OTC) system.
Reconciling and issuing of transport invoices on Pastel.
Reconciling, process and filing of POD's.
Track and trace of container units.
Monitoring the free time period on each container unit.
Ensure empty container units are returned to their relevant depots.
Acquittal processing.
Reconciling shipping line invoices for payment.
Processing accident claims.
Follow up with workshop and C-track on repairs and Maintenance on truck and trailers.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Matric.
Ability to work on MS Excel.
Knowledge on Pastel advantageous.
Familiar with various container depots and their internal procedures.
Knowledge on Transnet NAVIS system and OTC system.
Excellent planning, organizational and administrative skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in pressured and deadline driven operating environment.
Valid code 8 driver's licence.
Reliable transport to work.

Salary:
From R16,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Pretoria North, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

  • High School (matric) (preferred)
