Job Characteristics:

Manage inventory and achieve required inventory levels at the defined inventory component level across network stocking locations to meet customer service levels.

Builds & maintains clear communication & cooperation with demand planning, sales, and customer service to the manufacturing operations to address supply and resolve customer service issues.


Duties:

  • New Product Introduction review new product design for manufacturing ease and determine potential sourcing. Coordinate plant test schedules and with the divisions support launch strategies and timing.
  • Product Transfers coordinate product sourcing changes with the divisions, R&D and the plants to minimize downstream issues with quality, service and costs.
  • Sales Forecasts respond to changes in sales forecasts and new marketing strategies.
  • Develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns.
  • Develop effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns.
  • Support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities.
  • Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy.
  • Successfully communicate forecast and inventory estimations to management.
  • Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies.
  • Conduct monthly forecast maintenance.
  • Address demandrelated issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • SKU Rationalization support product rationalization opportunities and coordinates with the plants the implementation of rationalization decisions.
  • Inventory DOH review inventory DOH and costs with divisions to assess areas for improvement. Control inventories to agreed parameters.
  • Optimize Operations sourcing through conducting product sourcing analyses and determining optimal supply chains. Initiate and implement Total Quality Improvement projects.
  • Monitor the backorder reports of the network locations on a daily basis. Prevent potential backorders by rerouting stock. Investigate and resolve existing backorders.
  • Consolidate and control Manufacturing Planning Key Performance Indicator data (e.g. inventory, service) to assess divisional performance.
  • Monitors service delivery to ensure customer satisfaction and project delivery to ensure benefits are realized.
  • Assessing the financial structure and inventory storage capabilities of the business.
  • Counting and tracking inventory across multiple locations.
  • Anticipating stock demands based on current and future business functions.
  • Analyzing and anticipating market trends for the best time to purchase inventory.
  • Creating inventory reports and presenting suggestions to the Supply Chain Manager.
  • Ensuring the business has a steady flow of stock without overcapitalizing on materials.
  • Suggesting changes to inventory warehousing to meet increased or reduced demand.
