About the job


We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Generalist who will play a vital role in supporting the Human Resources department.

As an integral member of our team, you will be responsible for integrating HR best practices, with a specific focus on training and development, job grading, and recruitment and selection, along with effective internal HR polices, guidelines, and procedures.


Your primary objective will be to ensure that our company adheres to various standards and legislations while enhancing business performance and promoting wellness initiatives throughout our talented workforce.

With your expertise in training and development, you will drive initiatives that empower employees to reach their full potential and contribute to a healthy and dynamic working environment.


In addition to your knowledge in training and development, you will also utilize your understanding of job grading to accurately evaluate and analyze job positions within our organization.

This knowledge will help guide decision-making processes related to job classification, compensation, and career development opportunities.

To succeed in this role, you must possess strong business acumen and the ability to navigate complex HR challenges.

Your coaching skills, excellent communication abilities, and patience will be critical in guiding employees and managers through various HR processes and initiatives.

Moreover, your strategic thinking and project management skills will enable you to balance competing priorities and conflicting opinions, facilitating informed decisions for the benefit of both employees and the overall success of the business, especially in an environment characterized by ambiguity and change.

Qualification:

  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management.

Experience:

  • Experienced Industrial Relations Practitioner.
  • Minimum of 5 years years Human Resources Generalist experience with successful track record and expertise in the areas of selection and staffing, organization development, manpower planning and career development, training, compensation and benefits, and performance management systems.
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in FMCG / Retail industry advantageous.

Technical knowledge and skill:

  • Understanding of Employment Equity and Health and Safety Standards.
  • Advanced knowledge of Labour Legislation and Best Practice.
  • Advanced knowledge of relevant Human Resources methodologies and approaches.
  • Resolving Employee Relations issues.
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Cape Town,

Western Cape:
Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
