Duties & Responsibilities

Labour Relations

  • Manage, facilitate and coordinate labour dispute issues such as Disciplinary, Incapacity (PIP) & Grievances.
  • Provide advice and guidance on labour relations issues.
  • Continuously update company policies with the latest Labour Relations Act amendments
  • Manage and provide timely advice/solutions for noncompliance issues.
  • Continually monitor effectiveness and compliance with guidelines.
  • Minimise costs associated with ER matters.
  • Create high level and open communication channels regarding ER issues.

Payroll Support

  • Ensure that the correct inputs are captured and loaded correctly.
  • Check, review and approve the pulled reports such as Recons, Variance, Remittance, Leave and other related.
  • Ensure that the 3rd payments are processed timeously.
  • Compile reports for operation requirements (i.e. Stats SA, EE, Skills, Stafflist etc).
  • Resolve Tax (PAYE, SDL, UIF) queries.

Performance and Talent Management

  • Facilitate the implementation of the Performance Management Process
  • Facilitate the talent management process relating to talent, succession, scarce and critical skills as per talent management cycle.
  • Ensure compliance with the performance management contracting process through setting objectives for staff reporting into them and reviews thereof.
  • Draft employee talent profiles as per the talent management process as and when required.
  • Implement all identified talent profile action plans as and when required.
  • Monitor all identified talent profile action plans and provide updates.
  • Manage performance appraisal's scorecards.
  • Prepare reports for end of fiscal to use the scores for extrinsic rewards such as Annual increases and STI.

Learning and Development & Employment Equity

  • Act as an internal resource for all Skills Development related matters within the organisation.
  • Manage the company's SD/EE ensuring that the information is uptodate for SETA on WSP/ATR and for DOL on EE Plan/submission.
  • Manage, track and advise the management team on Workplace skills plans & EE plan.
  • Provide training to the workforce on employee related needs or refreshers such as policies.
  • Coordinate the SD/EE committee on submitted plans to Labour and SETA.
  • Perform skills audit, coordinate the skills gap analysis and facilitate implementation of the action plans thereof.
  • Compile training plan by gathering identified training, analyse the relevance of training to the job function and present to management for approval annually.

Employee Movement Management (Recruitment, Selection, On-boarding and Exits):

  • Manage the talent acquisition process by liaising with line managers on possible vacancies/ replacements or new roles as and when required.
  • To ensure that the process is in line with the EAP targets and EE plans.
  • Ensure new employees are inducted and orientated timeously.
  • Ensure that communication on all new hires is shared with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Managing recruitment process from requisition approval, advertising, shortlisting, interviews, vetting and to finalising an offer
  • Provide support to line management in dealing with staff exits so that the costs associated with these are minimised.
  • Accountable to ensure all relevant documentation pertaining to employees are accurate and timely

Policies & Procedures

  • Ensure that the company policies are aligned with the legislations and company's revised processes.
  • Draft new employee related policies and procedures in line with company's operations

Education & Training

  • HR Degree/National Diploma
  • Skills Development Facilitator certification
  • Learning and Development experience is required.
  • Sage 300 certification or relevant experience in running payroll.
  • Valid driver's license and own motor vehicle

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience (with +1 years in Management);
  • Indepth knowledge with South African Labour Laws (such as LRA, BCEA, SD, SDL, EEA, BBBEE, COIDA, SARS, etc.)
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook,) and intermediate to advance on Excel.
