The role

As a M&A insurance legal analyst in our team

  • You will be required to prepare (inter alia) discussion papers, requests for proposals and heads of terms for insurance policies in regard to M&A, tax and environmental liability insurance transactions.
  • You will analyse and summarise information available into an agreed form to identify or preempt potential risks or "pitfalls" which may be identified later in the insurance process.
  • You will demonstrate excellent time management because of the sensitive nature of M&A transactions, you will handle and manage multiple instructions at any one time.
  • You will learn and be mentored from an experienced team of individuals
You will have the following responsibilities

  • Delivering superior client service by being responsive and available to meet clients' demands and timelines.
  • Growing and maintaining strong relationships with all transaction risk insurers and M&A and tax advisors, including banks, law firms, accounting firms, investment funds and private equity firms, as well as professional/industry groups.
  • Managing relationships with large and complex clients and liaising with both internal and external stakeholders including underwriters through to Csuite executives.
  • Assisting with a wide range of tasks, including drafting requests for proposals and attending presentations/ "pitches" with potential clients.
  • Reading and interpreting contractual agreements.
  • Developing and executing projects and relationships and working collaboratively with other areas of the business.
  • Drafting, proofreading and producing high quality reports for the team and external clients.
  • Adhoc administrative responsibilities as required.
The requirements

  • Experience in a similar role and 12 years PQE with corporate law experience in a law firm.
  • Ability to analyse transaction documents and financial statements and discern and provide advice on related risks.
  • Ability to develop relationships and influence at senior levels with strong people skills and to manage multiple stakeholders
  • Resilience and ability to work effectively with all types of personalities.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in teams when required with a collaborative working style and the ability to work with others under pressure.
  • Client and service oriented with attention to detail and quality focused.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively and confidently communicate in English
